01 · Measure
Audit
One number for how visible you are, across traditional search and AI. The number moves. The ruler doesn’t. That’s what makes this month worth comparing to the last one.
Why the number holds up
Most visibility tools tell you how you’re doing. That’s a number with nothing to hold it against. Audit measures you and your competitors the same way, on the same public data, in the same month, so the score tells you where you stand rather than just how you’re doing. When it moves, you know whether you gained or the field shifted.

Why it’s different
Most tools quietly change their own methodology over time. Last quarter’s number then means nothing. Our deterministic measurement doesn’t change, which is what makes measuring every month worth doing.
Step by step
01
Maps who you are actually competing with
You name up to five competitors and Audit reads their sites alongside yours. If you would rather not choose, it can work them out from the category, though naming them yourself gives you a sharper read.
02
Builds your keyword universe
Audit builds the keyword universe for your category, then runs a deterministic filter across it to keep only the keywords that are relevant to your brand.
03
Runs the searches for real
Audit turns those keywords into the questions people actually search, then checks whether you show up in traditional results and whether you get cited in AI answers.
04
Scores your visibility
Three things make up the number. Where you rank in traditional search, whether you get cited in AI answers, and how both of those compare to the competitors you named. That’s your Sercient Score, out of a hundred.
05
Ranks the gaps
Every question you’re missing from is a gap. Audit ranks them by the search volume behind each one, so the list starts with the gap that would move your score the most and works down from there.
06
Checks what you did last time
From the second month on, Audit looks at whether last month’s recommendations were acted on. The ones you made drop off the list. The ones you skipped move up it, because the gap is still open and it’s now a month older.
Anyone can hand you a number. Measuring the same way twelve months running is the only way to show what moved.
